St Anthony wearable altar shrine

A beautiful Italian vintage holy card of St Anthony and the baby Jesus -
you can recognize the style and colouring of this Italian image -
set between two pieces of glass and soldered with lead free silver solder.
On the back of the image I placed a piece from a vintage Bible
and on top of that I cut out a piece of the Litany of St Anthony and
I also included his holy medal - all of this edged with vintage rickrack trim.

On top of the small shadowbox I added a piece of vintage enameled jewellery of flowers - these complement the colouring of the holy card and the lilies and roses.
The altar is suspended from an unusual double sided rosary connector.
The beaded necklace contains fresh water pearls, pink pearls to match the colouring ofthe card,
swarovski crystal, a piece of a rosary which I brought back from Saintes Maries de la Mer,
auroraborealis beads and many sterling silver findings and crystal rondelle.
The necklace also includes very old miniature rosary pieces that I found at an auction.

Underneath the altar hangs a beautiful rosy cross, a miniature blue enamel medal of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a tiny blue enamel Miraculous Medal that I brought back from Lourdes and one of the very small rosary connectors that I also used in the necklace.

Every wearable altar, shrine and pendant carries the signature of the artisan (me)
engraved on a sterling silver leaf, or on the back of a sterling silver hand cast icon,
hanging on the necklace.

Each one of my pendants, shrines, paintings and other sacred art are first infused
with a mixture of holy water which includes holy water from Lourdes and
water from the grotto of Archangel Michael in Monte Sant'Angelo,
and then infused with holy relic oil of more than 53 Saints & pure essential oils.
A mixture of one hundred oils are used, including frankincense, myrrh, spikenard, agarwood and rose. It is also immersed in blessed pink dead sea salts,
infused with rose petals steeped in holy oil of a third relic of
St Therese of Lisieux and it is packaged with blessed salts, frankincense and sprinkled with holy water collected form many sacred places in the world.
So it becomes sort of holy object to be handled with reverence and care.

The love of the White Queen

These are such beautiful images that I found
on Paper Whimsy.
I have used these queens for various
shadow boxes and other pieces.

Now they are shining in these hand soldered
pendants and I just love them!

For the White Queen I used a number
of old pieces that I collected through the
years

Such an unusual collection of crystals
and matte glass
They almost have a retro feel to them

And I love this crystal studded piece that
the pendant hangs from
I took another old piece apart
and could repeat these rounds
in a few places

The colour in the enamelled flowers match the pink
in her cheeks and in the dangle that hangs below.

She reminds me of the White Queen.

Monday with Mary - Mary of the Blue Apples

Our Lady of the Blue Apples

In the region of Languedoc and Rennes in France,
 legends and myths prevail.
Religion, culture and stories are intertwined almost
seamlessly.
In this Cathar region there are many hints and clues
to the true story behind the story.
These include the region and castle known as
the 'Blue Apples', references to the Holy Grail,
buried gold and devotion to the Blessed Virgin and
to Mary Magdalene.

This is the grail watermark of the Merovingian kings of the Rennes
said to be fruit of the vine or the royal bloodline of Mary Magdalene.
Merovingian grail watermark

The Priory of Sion was tied with the Knights Templar and claims of the Merovingian kings to be descendents of the Davidic bloodline through the lineage of Mary Magdalene and Jesus. Many of the Parisian elite belonged to this secret society, including the French music composer Claude Debussy, listed as Grand Master of the Priory of Sion.

I visited this region two years ago and was
fascinated by all the lore and created a tiny altar
for Our Lady of the Blue Apples.

The tiny statue is the Vierge Noire de Paris or Notre Dame as the French refer
to her.  I bought this statue in the Latin Quarter in Paris.
Archangel Michael is regarded as the Great Protector by the Knights
Templar.  You can see the black and white chequered floor - traditional
of the Knights Templar's masonic temples.
Of course you cannot miss the tiny blue 'apples' or grapes in the holy grail.

A wonderful Mary week to you!
