But today is Monday and and time for that
special time with Mary.

Shard of Beauty -
Hand made sculpture and relic

Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt - marvelous error! -
that a spring was breaking
out in my heart.
I said : Alon which secret aqueduct,
Oh water, are you coming to me,
water of a new life
that I have never drunk?

Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt - marvelous error! -
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bee
were making white combs and sweet honey
from my old failures

Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt - marvelous error! -
that a fiery sun was giving
light inside my heart.
It was fiery because I felt
warmth as from a hearth,
and sun because it gave light
and brought tears to my eyes.

Last night as I slept,
I dreamt - marvellous error! -
that it was God I had
here inside my heart

A creative day to you!!

Welcome to Cloister of the Heart

I am participating in the Grow Your Blog
event
and I hope you will enjoy what you find here
and leave with some joy!

I write to you from Cape Town in South Africa
and find it fascinating how we connect around the world.
We are in the middle of a beautiful hot summer
I hope that those of you in the grip of winter
will be warmed by the fires of inspiration
that I share here

Shards of Beauty - Angelus Mariam

I started this blog to write about my travels

to sacred and mystical places.

St Bridgit's well and pilgrimage, Kildare, Ireland

St Marie Madeleine Basilica, Saint Maxim, France

Walking the Mary and Michael leylines across Italy and Britain

The Michael Tower on the Tor in Glastonbury

The Gypsey festival of St Sara la Kali in Saintes Maries de la Mer

and slowly but surely it developed and grew
into a celebration of Sacred Art :
art that gives meaning to life;
art which captures the vignettes of ordinary life
and showcases these as extra-ordinary sacred moments;
art that holds the vision that the stories of the Holy Ones
are our stories!!

Here you will find Mondays with Mary
every Monday morning

Twelve days with Mary
every December

Wearable shrines
and the stories behind them

Soul Collage Journeys

And whatever I am playing with at the moment.
Some of my creations make my Etsy shop, and some
I make for the sheer joy and pleasure of it.

Lately I have been playing with clay, clay impressions
and sculpturing faces in clay.  I call these Shards of Beauty
and I am giving one away - just leave a comment till
15 February and I will let you know who the shrine is going to!

Each Shard of Beauty has its own story to tell
and here is one :

It has been reported that remains of an ancient
culture and peoples have been uncovered
on the continent of Africa.

Many incredibly exciting pieces have been
dug up, some still in very good condition.

From the obvious reverent way in which these relics have been buried,
it is obvious that these, still un-named and unknown,
peoples, considered many, maybe even all,
aspects of ordinary life to be sacred.
It is also obvious that devotion to
a higher ideal was very important to them.

Many of these pieces contain the images of
women, regaled as sacred mother, priestess, teacher,
householder, artist and as holy.

It would also appear that they understood the essence of
the goodness of Life to be represented by radiant Light.

These relics all contain pottery or clay shards of the
image of the Revered Woman and in some
instances various names are sculptured into these
mysterious and mystical shards.

Remnants of an ancient language is still
visible in pieces of scrolls which had become
embedded in these relics.

These relics all contain very precious pieces
of jewels and other treasures
and this shows that these relics
were regarded as extremely important
and valuable to this community and tribe.

Scholars are speculating that these relics
are from an ancient temple, most probably from
the Temple of Mary.

These relics may be the key to a deeper understanding
for a peaceful and wise society!!!

I also invite you to my visit my blog
Her Grace by Devata
where I share my shadow boxes, jewellery
and shrine
and a give-away!

Hope to get to know you!!

Mother Mary Blessing Seeds

Bless the earth with these blessing seeds : infuse them with your prayers for healing and plant them where you pray.

Our spiritual Mother, Mary, asks all of us to pray to Her regardless of our religion or culture. She has said to many visionaries that all people are her children – her spiritual children. Our bodies are temporary, but our spirits live forever, that is why Mother Mary is our true Divine Mother, the Mother of our Souls. Her love for all of us is truly that of a mother who would want nothing more than to help her children.

I created these blessing seeds from ceramic clay that will deteriorate and dissolve back into Mother Earth when buried. Each of these seeds are imprinted with the divine image of Divine Mary and thus contains Her sacred energy. They are also packed with roses petals of third relic St Teresa of Lisieux roses!! The images include Our Lady of Guadulupe, Madonna of the Streets, Miraculous Medals, the dove, a rose, the face of Jesus, Mother and Child, sacred heart and angel wings.

You can say a prayer whilst holding the seed in your hand, and then make a hole in the ground with your finger and plant these seeds wherever you want healing to take place. This way you can call on Mother Mary as you walk on her earth; you can place these at sacred places; in your garden or at places of sadness and trauma.

These beautiful handmade blessing seeds are packaged with blessed  pink salts, sprinkled with sacred waters from Lourdes and dried rose petals which were touched to the St Teresa roses, carefully wrapped in tissue paper in a voile bag. An image of Mary with the above information will accompany your Blessing Seeds. Each bag contains 21 or 33 blessing seeds - you can choose.

Each one of the blessing seeds are first infused with holy water from Lourdes (which I brought back), and then infused with holy relic oil of more than 53 Saints & pure essential oils. A mixture of one hundred oils are used, including frankincense, myrrh, spikenard, agarwood and rose. It is also immersed in blessed pink dead sea salts, infused with rose petals steeped in holy oil of a third relic of St Therese of Lisieux and it is packaged with blessed salts, frankincense and sprinkled with holy water collected form many sacred places in the world. So it becomes a holy object to be handled with reverence and care.

You can place these seeds on your altar or place of prayer or contemplation.

Pray to Divine Mary, She is as close as your heart

Ave Maria

Mondays with Mary - the wonder of the moment

In stillness, I discover the wonder
of my joyous heart.

A single moment truly lived is the same as
living a thousand lifetimes.

Every experience in my life has
shaped me to be where I am
at this very moment

I am exactly who I am supposed to be

Mondays with Mary
linking up with Rebecca of Recuerda mi Corazon
every Monday

On Saturday the 11th I celebrated my birthday
with a small intimate group of friends and family

We gathered at 5 am at the new Mary shrine
in my garden
and waited for sunrise in silence
after which I had a celebratory blessing ceremony
followed by a sumptous breakfast!

We did all the flowers and baking ourselves!!

Have a wonderful week!!

Mondays with Mary inspiration

What would you do if you were not afraid of anything,
anything at all?
What would you do if you were told
and you have come to know
that the Matrix of Life holds and supports you?

Right now, deep within you, resides a buried treasure,
waiting to be unearthed.
As you start digging and find the courage
to follow the small voice of the heart at all times,
fear drops like a discarded coat.

Mondays with Mary
starting the week and the year
with inspiration from
images, symbols, stories and metaphor
of blessed Mary.

Blog party, give-away and inspiration!!

Maybe you have seen this invitation on my sidebar.
2 Bags Full for the second year in a row
is offering this blog party and already 222 bloggers have
signed up.

Here in South Africa, life is in a hiatus.  The schools close for
close to two months;  the builders trade closes for a month;
families get together and all focus is on Christmas and New Year
celebrations, holidaying by the sea side, cooking many meals
for the family and no time is left for blogging!!

So this blogging party is just what I am looking for!
With so many blogs participating one is sure to find new inspiration,
creative ideas and kindred souls!

And just to add to my inspiration to create,
I am offering a give-away!!

The party post and give-away will go up here on
23 January 2014 and one of those who comment
on the post, will receive the give-away.

What will I gift as a give-away?
I am thinking maybe one of my handmade pendants

Our Lady of Lourdes pendant shrine - wearable sacred art

see my pendants on Her Grace on Etsy.com
https://www.etsy.com/shop/Devata

or maybe a  handmade shrine of the Madonna!

My other blog Her Grace by Devata
http://hergracedevata.blogspot.com
will always be participating, you have two chances
of winning a give-away!
So exciting!

Maybe you would like to participate as well - just find your way to
where you will find full instructions!
